Now onto news...

I gave in my application for a commission (officer position) in the Army Reserves

I'll most likely in 7th Rifles G Company which is a light foot regiment. Basically it's pure soldiering, light infantry. The other regiment I'm considering is the Royal Signals, which is basically the Army's IT guys. I've already been to a drill night with the Rifles (learnt the basics of how to safety check a SA80 and the principles of marksmanship, the "bread and butter" of infantry according to the lance corporal) and really enjoyed it, especially the people! Even from just a phone call with the Signals I can tell that I won't find that sort of friendship in the infantry elsewhere which is the main thing that appeals to me.

Anywho, that's the main news. The backup news is that it's MCM (Comicon) in London on Saturday, and I'm going (and hopefully cosplaying). If I do cosplay I'll be doing a cadet from Starship Troopers (and will obviously show you lovely lot pictures).
